i lost myself trying to find you

I lost myself trying to find you.
Immersed my soul with findings of love.
Love not known by man, love that has no definitive meaning.
Love that knows no boundaries.
Love that escapes the gods.

I lost myself trying to find you.
I found parts of you in lost galaxies.
I saw your eyes in the sky.
I saw your face in the moon.
I heard your voice in the trees.
I felt your caress in the wind.
Your warmth was prevalent in the sun.
Your taste was in the water.

I lost myself trying to find you.
Flowers bloomed and I knew your scent was near.
Wolves howled and I knew my lust was real.
The fruits tasted that much sweeter as lust turned into infatuation.
Nostalgic thoughts of your sun kissed skin.
Your moon lit face.
Your supple lips.
Your starry eyes.
Your angelic voice.
Your presence made men weak.
It made my knees buckle.

I lost myself trying to find you.
When words failed me, my pen carried me.
My ink I wore on my sleeves.
I cut out my heart and put it on my pages.
Pages that never ended.
Pages that were always about you.
Pages that could shatter walls.

I lost myself trying to find you.
I shattered walls.
Your walls.
The great fortitude that is your heart.
Also.
I shattered walls.
Walls that made the Earth tremble.
Walls that caused floods.
I shattered your walls.

I lost myself trying to find you.
My mind a mental asylum.
Your heart an abyss.
I lost you.
I am lost myself.

I lost myself trying to find you.
I found you.
My eternal joy.
Never had you.
The extreme pain.
I lost myself.
In you.
Only to watch you give it all away.
My heart led astray.
